North Korea has just announced that it has developed thermonuclear weapons capability:

It's hard to know whether they're lying or not, but if they do a test then the world will detect and analyze if it was successful. India attempted to test thermonuclear weapons capability during Pokhran-II, but was unsuccessful. One problem is that if India were to try to re-test it down the road, then it could prompt Pyongyang to test as well, and we'd get lumped together.
