Given all the "liberal" activism over riots in India, it's rather noteworthy that these activists are silent over the ruling govt's attempt to ban people from entry purely because they want justice for 1984 atrocities.

It is not a simple issue. Many of the Canadian Sikhs are hardcore Khalistanis who want to go beyond just talking about the atrocities of 1984. They are using 1984 as a convenient excuse to revive the almost-dead, separatist, Khalistani movement. The government might be justified in denying a visa for this individual.

I'm acutely aware. However the govt has no problems with stoking up sentiments against Modi, whether among Muslims or Khalistani Sikhs or Leftists or anyone.
