Namaskar,
January 12 is Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. During recent Bastar Yatra visited the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Narainpur, was very impressed by their work. Sharing pics that speak for themselves.

Established in 1985 the Mission runs a residential school for 1,000 children, a Coaching school for 1,900 children, an Agriculture Training cum Demonstration Farm, an ITI centre and a hospital/mobile health unit amongst others. In Abhujhmarh (described as ‘tangled knot of hills’) it runs five free residential schools. I visited one such school at Kundla (206 children) where a Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre is also run with UNICEF. They run 181 Anganwadis and Mini-Anganwadies covering more than 5,000 children below six years of age for 200 villages in Abujhmarh.
Mission’s approach of ‘Selfless Service’ has helped them survive and excel in a difficult environment. Funding remains a constant challenge though!

If you like to support the effort do write in and I will mail you bank details. Donations get tax benefit under section 80G of the Income-Tax Act. They have government approval to receive funds from abroad. U can deposit cheque with any State Bank of India or transfer funds electronically.
Warm Regards
sanjeev nayyar
