instead they worry about how to:
a) increase the price of petrol, b) roll it back,
c) beat up on swami ramdev, d) not beat up on anna hazare
e) go for FDI in retail, f) withdraw from that
g) censor the internet, h) withdraw from that
i) arrest a minister, j) worry about what another minister will do if arrested -- will he go gentle into that good night, or will be bring the whole edifice down with him?
k) keep saying "inflation will end in 3 months" without laughing out loud.
this is a nice circus and a great diversionary tactic, but fat lot of good all this is doing vis a vis china.
although it was good to start talking about drilling in vietnamese waters and announcing new troop and air formations on the indo-tibet border.
the hans are good at probing. they will annoy you; if you push back, they will withdraw. that is exactly what they did in both cases: they screamed, and then shut up.
but of course a large section of the ruling kitchen cabinet (NAC) consists of "friends of china" and much of the media has been getting baksheesh from them.
