This situation is a real quandary. I believe they should be extra careful before the authorities circulate a warning about the use of injectable hormone based contraceptive.

Considering that these are some of the most ravaged HIV regions on earth and the inability to afford anything else on a regular basis could put more women and men at risk than it is possibly - according to this study - already is.

One question that is very pertinent and which troubles the poorer nations is - what other alternative, which is also cost effective?

It is not clear from the report whether the contraceptive agent is the culprit or whether the infection is caused by contaminated needles that shoot the virus right into body tissues or blood.
