OT: KKKangress achievement: profitability in agriculture continues to fall dangerously

Thanks to NREGP, it has become increasingly difficult to hire labour.

Have to agree with inferno's offtopic comment comment. In my maternal grandfather's village, almost everyone's gone for raising seed corn for one of the multinaionals (Pioneer?), and have gone in for mechanisation to get the harvest in. Couldn't deal with the labour issue in all aspects of farming. Now this begets the question, what kind of seed corn are they raising in the Andhra hinterland for a US multinational? Strongly suspect it is some kind of genetically modified corn.
