this is slightly old, but i do like the prisoner's dilemma perspective. a lot of indian behavior can be explained through
a) game theory
b) the scarcity economy syndrome engendered by 60 years of kkkangress rule
c) the endemic and epidemic corruption also engendered by 60 years of kkkangress rule
