He may sometimes be hijacked into Wonderland by the leftist cabals (such as when he supports India's NREG scheme to project Sonia'ma' as the reincarnation of Indira'ma') - but for the most part he gets it right.
This war is screwing America - the only sad thing of course is that the Hans are gaining from it. Stiglitz is not the first to warn about Oil and Debt - Kevin Phillips wrote a prescient book a couple of years ago. Phillips blames Bush too - however it is the economic model of what Gurumurthy calls Charuvaka economics that is to blame
