Will Obama fade?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/19/opinion/19brooks.html?_r=1&ref=opinion&oref=slogin

The answer is a resounding yes. Hollywood celebrity and Oprah endorsements can carry him so far- and no further. The Obama bubble is like the sub-prime bubble.

Reality is that he does not have the experience of using government institutions to do what he wants. Hillary does and is a better bet for the democrats. Overall - I am pretty happy for either to win the nomination.

The Bubba's are going to vote for McCain - because they cannot see a black man or a woman in the White House. And I like McCain - not because he is a war hero; but because he does not seem to like China. He has vowed to make the Quadrilateral Initiative permanent (when Kevin Rudd starts reading English i.e.).

Besides the Democrats are all Non-Proliferation Ayatollahs

I like the fact that McCain is a war hero. He refused to leave the Hanoi Hilton, even though he was given the chance, because he wouldn't leave his fellow men behind.

I think his could be another Eisenhower presidency. He's not well-liked by either the Religious Far Right or the Socialist Far Left. Politically, he's more of a moderate.

Btw, not only is he tough on China, he's also tough on Islamic fundamentalism.

Rajeev,

Exactly my thoughts… I cannot stand this Obama guy and his Jesus rants. And what’s up with his change bull shit. I cannot believe Dems are falling for this crap. But again Dems have this habit of throwing a guy at the top of the ticket every few election cycle who gets whacked by Republicans. It started with Adlai Stevenson, few years later George McGovern and then Walter Mondale.

I think this election cycle Democratic Party has been hijacked by loony liberals and the fringe militant left nut cases. Obama may not be as bad as Stevenson or Mondale but he does not stand a chance against McCain on national security. It may not be the number one issue now but the republicans will make it one and Obama will be creamed on this issue. Remember Swift Boat Veterans? If a war hero like Kerry was made to look like a traitor it will be hilarious to see what the Republican smear machine will do to Obama. After this drubbing it will be another two or three election cycle before a Dem can sit in the Oval office.

I also think the reason Kennedy’s supported Obama because they do not want a rival family to threaten them within the Democratic Party and if by chance Obama wins then he will be indebted to Kennedy’s.

I hope super delegates do not fall for this momentum crap, show some sense and vertebrate and stop this guy before the convention. Other wise Dems are doomed this election cycle.

But the good thing is McCain is not a bad republican like GWB or Reagan. So even if the Dems are doomed US will be in good hands with McCain in the oval office.
