B. Raman writes a book on RAW

To be released next week, this is the first book on RAW written by an authoritative source.

RAW was pretty effective in the 1970s (though they badly underestimated the hatred of Madame in the 1977 elections).

However, the agency since then seems to have been infiltrated by intelligence agencies of all sorts from the CIA to the ISI.

I recall the RAW officer who was 'honey trapped' by the CIA and revealed much of what was happening between India and the LTTE.

There was also the Larkin brothers.

RAW's effectiveness surely must have been blunted by such infiltration.
