interesting regional distribution of future bpo centers

Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mangalore, Nagpur, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam.

tamil nadu - 1
andhra pradesh - 2
karnataka - 1
maharashtra - 2
kerala - 2
bengal - 1

if you take this to mean places where there is a good business climate for low-cost labor intensive service industry, i dont think i'd agree with this list.

my top 10 list would be:

ahmedabad, surat
coimbatore, madurai
vishakhapatnam, vijayawada
mangalore, mysore
pune, nagpur

and not cochin, trivandrum or calcutta.

chennai and hyderabad are too big and expensive for low-end call center type work
coimbatore would be the number 1 hot prospect
mysore is good too
kerala not really because of too much political agitation and poor-quality education
calcutta for innumerable reasons.
