More on the Christian Cross on Indian 2-Rupee Coins...

Retired IAS officer V. Sundaram provides evidence in a nice article that the cross on Indian 2-rupee coins is indeed a Christian cross(yes, with all those 4 dots) first issued by a French Emperor and later used by the Crusaders. Hence it was also known as the Crusader's Cross.

I found this news release on the web supposedly put out by the RBI. What it is saying is "don't say the obvious and call it a cross - call it a symbol of national unity even though no one in his right mind can ever interpret it in that manner".

I'll bet some underling (read minister) in the UPA cabinet ordered this to please her highness the pope's representative. I'll even bet that it was a Hindu that did it. No Christian would bother to do such a thing when there's Hindu s*** to do the job unasked. This kind of thing is what comes of not having religious education for children - no convictions about the Hindu religion at all.

"New Delhi, Jan 5: The Reserve Bank will shortly put into circulation a new Rs two coin with modified features under the theme 'unity in diversity.' The central portion of the new coin bears the 'Lion Capitol' of Ashoka Pillar along side the numeral '2' to indicate the denomination, an RBI statement said.

On the existing coin, the Lion Capitol is inscribed prominently on the top of the numeral '2'.

Unlike the coin in circulation at present, the new coin is devoid of India's map. Instead, a stylised symbol portraying the country's diverse yet unified fabric is inscribed on the reverse portion.

The symbol should be seen as four heads sharing a common body, the Reserve Bank said in a statement here. "It should be thought of as people from all four parts of the country coming together under one banner and identifying with one nation," the statement said.

The existing two rupee coin is also a legal tender, the statement added. "

Hmm, I think I may have been wrong about my earlier reservations. It would indeed be a very bad thing if the government used a Christian design, that too copied off an obscure Papal coin. If they cannot produce an Indian-origin symbol that matches it precisely, this is the only conclusion with which we are left.

FFS, forget secularism. This is outrageous. We Indians (mostly hindus) are dumb and we are taken for granted. They are saughtering hinduism in this very india in name of secularism. These foreign religions shouldnt have been allowed to enjoy the current status and benifits that they have so far. Imagine such a pathetic move by the government in countries like saudi or even US. Hinduism is one of the oldest religion with great and profound philosophies. Let it prevail and flourish at least in India. Get the cross out of the coin. I do have respect for Jesus but not for these vicious Christians who are hell bent upon converting every one else on this earth. May Jesus curse the vatican for such hideous act.
