who 'lost' latin america?

apr 6th

america's continued nastiness esp in terms of supporting corrupt military dictators  and oppressing the natives may be giving the unreconstructed marxist dregs (to use b. raman's terminology) of latin america an opportunity. not to mention the oil windfall that venezuela has got. the marxists are once again posing as the champions of the indigenous people. interestingly enough the church has also tried its hand at posing as the champions of indigenous people: this is the same tactic they are using with sc/st in india as well.

at the end of the day, the indigenous people had better remember what jomo kenyatta said:

"when the missionaries came, we had the land and they had the bible.
they asked us to close our eyes and pray.
when we opened our eyes, the missionaries had the land and all we had was the bible."

so much for their 'love' of the oppressed.

the same holds good for the marxist/maoist types as well. note how they were 'liberating' indigenous manipuri and tripura tribal women: by forcing them at gunpoint to be the 'stars' in porno movies.
