It is hard to believe the UPA government was completely innocent, as it maintains. Whatever Jayalalitha's and Karunanidhi's role in the event, it is difficult to imagine anyone taking a drastic step without informing Shivraj Patil, the Home Minister. For instance, if there were a serious law-and-order problem arising from the arrest, then it would be an excuse/reason to immediately bring down the Jayalalitha government and impose central rule under article 356, and Jayalalitha is well aware of this. Karunanidhi, of course, enjoys considerable clout at the center, comparable to what Chandrababu Naidu enjoyed with the NDA government.
Arjun Singh, Prime Minister-in-waiting and rabidly anti-Hindu, has finished most of his re-toxifying work, and so has had a little time on his hands. He may had input into this, too.

Even though, I am a devout hindu and strong believer some of the brahminical values (not the un-touchability part though), the matt had last all its spirit under Jayandra saraswathi. From what I have seen this shankaracharya was surely not above suspicion. His conduct should have been above suspicions which is what the previous acharya had achieved. He is called "odi pona samiyar" (runaway samiyar!) by people of tamilnadu after an episode where he left even his dhandam and ranaway from the mutt!
And I would not like to see one of my favorite journalist stoop to the levels of karunanidhis and be as blinded as them. If the seer's crime is proved, it is more Heinous than that of Dhanonjay chatterjee considering he crushed the matt's image for generations to come. The matt's sancity had been built over centuries. As somebody said, the man if found guilty should be hanged thrice!

How did the matt lose its spirit?. because the seer tried to abolish caste discrimination?. because he created institutions?. Im really sad to see that you havent tried to learn about the real teachings of ur religion eventhough u call urself a devout hindu and that too a brahmin!!. A hindu is not about going to temple and following Vedic rituals to the book. Vedic rituals will not give u self-realisation. Sanatana Dharma inspires people to do self discovery. God is inside u and not in the temple.

Haha. LOL. Because he left the mutt for sometime, he is suspicious and not worthy of being a swami. He could not have had a different opinion from the previous swami ha ?. If he had one, then he is definitely wrong since the previous swami is GOD!!. Your logic is unbelievable.

Sounds like u have decided already in ur mind that he is a criminal. Fyi, u live in Kali yuga. There is no perfect legal system in any country. There have been so many instances of judges & police being bought in various countries including India.
